Young people locally were crying out for a space they could call their own – with facilities and activities that could help them fulfill their potential while having a lot of fun along the way.
Although there was already a Youth Space on Goodwin Parade, the Goodwin Development Trust wanted to do a lot more. So they bought a big old derelict pub on Porter St called Darleys and (with the help of local firms and Hull Construction Skills College) they completely redeveloped it into a Youth Centre with rehearsal rooms, multi-media equipment, games, performance areas, a theatrical group and even a radio station! And we’ve got lots more planned…
But the Darleys Youth Centre – and the services it provides – is driven by the views and voices of local young people. Our Youth team are dedicated to ensuring that those voices are heard by the right people – whether it be onstage, on-air, on-screen, on-line or at home.
We’re here to help local young people fulfill their potential and get a head-start to happiness.
If you want to be part of that, then we’d love to hear from you.
